Why such a statement?-- --because I recently discovered something new about why some individuals might be resistant to put their profile online. They are worried that someone will read their profile and discover their most private information.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, ever, post online—either through Facebook, OMS, Matchbook, or any other online sites—anything that you DO NOT want the world to know. Let me put it another way: if hackers are able to hack into banks, they will also hack into anything else, if they believe it will benefit them.
So, what do we do about our profiles on OMS? Plain and simple: tell the world who you are.
Be honest, truthful but also discreet. The most important part of your profile is the answers to the essay questions. Your answers are like college papers which, if good enough, could be published someday. This is where you speak about your faith, your relationship with God, your aspiration as a future spouse and parent, your hopes and dreams. You describe your character and the character you wish/hope for in your future spouse.
This kind of information is not worthwhile stealing as it has no value to people up to no good. Thus, there is really nothing to worry about. As far as your personal information, OMS does not ask questions that cannot already be found via other means—your name, birth date, and location. Again, there is no cause to worry.
Use OMS and all its features as intended and give God a chance to help you find your Heavenly Spouse
